How Softa's stage-matching actually works
Not a black box you have to trust — a rule-based read you can actually check.
01
What you log
Cycle dates, symptoms, how long things have been going on — nothing inferred, only what you actually recorded.
02
Explainable rules
Published perimenopause criteria applied directly — not a model trained to find its own patterns.
03
Your stage estimate
With a confidence level, and a plain-language reason you (or a doctor) can check line by line.
Explainable by design
A typical black-box model
Inputs go in, an answer comes out. Ask why, and there often isn't a real answer to give.
Softa
Every input that went in is one you can point to directly — with your doctor, if you want to.
Why we don't predict your next period
Cycle-prediction algorithms assume enough regularity to extrapolate from — which is exactly what perimenopause disrupts. Softa logs real dates only, and lets patterns speak for themselves rather than forecasting something we can't reliably know.
What informs the model
Softa's symptom catalog and stage logic are informed by published perimenopause and menopause research and clinical guidance. Softa is not clinically validated as a diagnostic tool, and doesn't claim to be — it's a starting point for a real conversation with a doctor.
